NemID is a nationally recognized security solution for a total of 5 million Danish companies, residents and authorities. It is used for login, online banking, public and private websites and for digital signatures.
"Danish NemID" can be used as a signature on all documents and is a binding signing method. This signature form is more secure than an old-fashioned signature made with a pen on a piece of paper. This is because a stamp is electronically incorporated into the signed PDF, in which several pieces of information about the signatory are stored.
In addition to storing information about the customer in the form of IP address, time and date, etc. a signature with an eID can also provide security for the signer's identity.
As this is a signature with a valid eID signing method through a Trusted Service Provider, this signing method complies with the eIDAS regulations and will be considered the most qualified signature method, both within the EU but also in the rest of the world.
The Danish Digitization Agency is currently phasing out NemID with a new electronic identification solution. NemID will be phased out as a Danish signing and identification solution at the beginning of 2023, where MitID will replace NemID. Addo Sign will of course support the new eID
In Denmark, only NETS can provide this service and therefore they are the only Trusted Service Provider in Denmark.
News: It is now possible to sign several documents with one key file. The signer can thus simply sign all documents with one NemID key file. All you have to do as a sender is select this feature when sending. See the picture below for example:
