With Addo Sign you have the possibility to send documents, both with and without signature to recipients using email, SMS and other secure distribution methods. However, there is a limit to how large files can be sent to recipients.
We have created a document size limit to meet the standard requirements that exist for the majority of mailboxes.
Allowed file size
When sending documents to a recipient with Addo Sign, the total transaction size must not exceed a limit of 20 MB per transmission. It is therefore possible to add as many documents as you like, however there is an upper limit to the total file size.
The reason for this is that the majority of all email addresses have an upper limit of 20 MB attachments in an email.
Therefore, if Addo Sign allowed attachments larger than this, they would not reach the recipient.
Increased file size
As a Addo Sign customer, it is possible to increase the file size of the documents you distribute through the platform. However, increasing the file size can have some changes that affect both the sender and the recipient of the documents.
It is possible to change the file size, so that the limit is raised up to 100 MB per shipment. When you change the file size up to 100 MB, 2 things happen:
- Recipient has the option to view or download sent documents - As documents up to 100 MB generate greater load on computer processes as well as internet speed, the recipient of a document now has the option to choose whether to view the document in the browser or to download the document for browsing.
Sender and receipt recipients will receive a link to download the documents rather than having them as an attachment - As the documents may now be too large to be received by a normal email address, they will now be sent as a download link in an email. This link must be clicked to download the documents and this is possible up to 30 days after a transaction has expired.
NOTE: As the documents are sent as a download link, they are not stored on the email address as they normally are and therefore it is important to remember to download the documents before they are deleted.
