Visma Addo employs "forced TLS (Transport Layer Security) encryption". TLS ensures a safe and encrypted connection when using Addo to send email to your recipients. Read more about encryption in Visma Addo here.
When you add a signer in Visma Addo, an automatic TLS check is performed on the signer's e-mail address. This means you will be able to see if the signer's email address or domain does not live up to standard requirements for secure, encrypted communication. If not, TLS needs to be activated on the signer's mail server.
You find the check here:

What to do if the TLS check fails
If the TLS check fails, your options are as follows:
- The easiest solution is to simply contact the recipient via other channels like phone or regular email, and ask for a different e-mail address. They will most likely have a Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo Mail account that conforms to modern standards and supports TLS.
- Contact the recipient via regular e-mail or phone, and ask them to talk to their email provider or IT department about getting TLS activated on their mail server.
